Turbulence Profiler is a coastal-zone profiler for the measurement of micro-scale turbulence. The profiler is designed for operation for small vessels with limited deck space (e.g., Zodiacs), or where electrical power facilities are limited or missing (e.g., ice camps). The VMP-250 records data internally on a memory card, eliminating the requirement for a deck-side power supply and data recording system (i.e., laptop). The battery and memory allow for up to 24 hours of continuous autonomous operation. It is possible to do repeated profiles without recovering the profiler between deployments. At the end of the profiling series, the recorded data are read out through a USB connector at the rear bulkhead.
RTG offers a range of mooring winches, these can be split into 2 main categories:1. MOORING (multi winch lift applications)
RTG can offer a range of mooring winches. These range 3Te to 75Te load capacity. Winches are designed robustly on a sacrificial sub frame.Supplied with or without level wind. Full DNV design approval and manufacture under survey can be offered on request. The RTG mooring winch range has generally 2 types I direct pull system, and traction winch.
2. MOORING (Subsea Moorings)
RTG can offer supplied traction winches for installation and recovery of subsea moorings.Winches have been developed to handle and pass the chains and linkages safely, without damage, through the system.Clamping and stopper systems have been integrated into the winch system to ensure safe connection and disconnection operation. The traction winch barrel design allows the master link assembly to pass over it.
RTG has extensive experience in the development of seabed sampling systems. Giant Piston corers, Gravity corers, Box corers, LARS for Cone penetration testing, HPT and other bespoke systems.RTG has developed solutions to overcome many of the problems associated with geotechnical surveys of the seabed. RTG has solutions that extend the life / minimise the damage risk occurring during the coring process whilst the corer is fixed to the sea bed, and the core sample is being extracted. Under these conditions damage may occur the main lift cable / umbilical if a suitable solutions is not selected. RTG provides cost effective solution, that enhances operational safety and reliability. When a tool is captive subsea, in the seabed, connected via a cable or umbilical to a moving vessel, the risk exists that equipment maybe lost or stuck under water. Such a situation can gives rise to a broken umbilical or cable, project down time and expensive intervention to recover the tool. RTG has developed a solution, proven in the field, and while in operation with a leading operator, set a working depth record of 3000m for a CPT sampling system.
Romica has a range of standard designs for survey winches:
Electrical and hydraulic driven winch optionsWith or without level windLevel wind operation can be mechanical, electrical or hydraulic driveWe have supplied cable capacities ranging between 300m to 4000mSystems can be incorporated into containers and equiped with integrated handling cranes for the sidescan and other survey equipment.
