UAV Drone Sold for SVAMITVA SchemePan India has sold 10 numbers of Insight 2.0 Drones under Svamitva scheme.About Svamitva (Survey of villages and mapping with improvised technology in village areas) scheme: The Government of India (GOI) has decided to implement the Central Sector scheme 'SVAMITVA' aiming to provide an integrated property validation solution for rural The demarcation of abadi areas (the abadi area includes inhabitant land, inhabited areas contiguous to Abadi and wadis/basties in rural areas ) would be done using Drone Surveying This would provide the 'record of rights' to village household owners possessing houses in inhabited rural areas in villages which, in turn, would enable them to use their property as a Financial Asset for taking loans and other financial benefits from Banks. Further, this would also enable updation of property and asset register to strengthen tax collection and demand assessment process of Gram Panchayats. Thus, the legal record of property holders and issuance of 'Property Cards' to household owners based thereon would facilitate monetization of rural residential assets for the purchase of credit and other financial.

Lippman IP Resitivity meter case study – IIT Roorkee

Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) is by far the most used method for geoelectric surveying, because it is one of the cheapest geophysical method and it gives very good results in many area of interest. This method uses two current electrodes situated at the end points with the two measuring electrodes continuously spreading in the line. This yields depth-wise resistivity variations, which are interpreted in terms of aquifer aquitards at depth and salinity of water in the aquifers. The field measurements technique is adjustable for the different topographic conditions and the interpretation of the data can be done with specialized software, with a primary interpretation immediately after the measurements. The results of VES measurements can be interpreted qualitatively as well as quantitatively. The technology is applicable on rivers and lakes also, making it possible to find out the geology of underwater terrain. This method has proven efficient in designing vertical guided boreholes and other engineer projects.

Vista Clara GMR Case study – Kansas

Both surface-based GMR and down-hole Javelin logging measurements were collected at the well-characterized Geohydrologic Experimental and Monitoring Site. The known subsurface structure Instrumentation: GMR surface NMR & Javelin NMR logging – 1.7 inch probe at the site consists of an upper clayey-silt layer overlying a sand aquifer located at around 9m; the water table is at 5m. Both the surface and logging datasets not only reflect the known subsurface structure, but are also remarkably consistent with one another. The two results show long decay times and high mobile water content in the lower sand layer, reliably identifying a productive aquifer.

Vista Clara GMR Case study – Montana

Water managers and ranchers in Western Montana can use NMR measurements to inform regional groundwater flow models and to select appropriate irrigation practices. Measured decay times, which are used to estimate subsurface hydrogeologic properties, are sometimes influenced by the presence of magnetic minerals. At this field site, T2* decay times from FID measurements were found to be very short (~15-50 ms), initially suggesting that groundwater was bound in low permeability silts. Supplemental spin echo measurements, however, revealed that the T2 decay times were actually much longer (~100-400 ms). While FID measurements were strongly affected by the magnetic geology, robust spin echo measurements accurately reflected the high permeability of the shallow sand and gravel aquifer. This study demonstrates that the characterization of aquifers in magnetic geology requires the ability to measure very short signals and high-quality spin echo decays.

Vista Clara GMR Case study – GMR Vs Lippman

In this paper, an attempt is made to briefly describe different methods for geophysical investigations. Afterward, experiments were carried out in the field to investigate the geophysical strata below the surface of the soil using both ground magnetic resonance (GMR) and resistivity meter. The measured geophysical strata from GMR and resistivity meter are compared with borehole data. It is observed that the results obtained by GMR and resistivity meter of aquifer strata are matching with borehole data. Hence, it is shown that GMR measurements are more economical, time-saving and non-invasive. Finally, the measured hydraulic conductivity can have potential application in the modeling of flow through subsurface soil.

CORS: GNSS NETWORK CHALLENGES

A Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) GNSS Network is a modern tool to provide regional positioning service that can provide fit-for-purpose positioning. In CORS Infrastructure, the corrections are instantly sent to the rover receiver (user end) from control centre which helps to find very accurate positioning of rover in real time. FOCUS 35 Helping Build China's Expressway

FOCUS 35 robotic total stations are hard at work helping build the world’s largest expressway network. In one notable example, the FOCUS 35, with its time-saving automatic scan template, is checking the cross-section quality of the twin Nan Kunshan tunnels for the new six-lane Shazhan S14 regional highway. Excavation under Nankun Mountain for the twin tunnels, each 4.1 km long and each capable of carrying three lanes of vehicular traffic, began in September 2016. In the current second phase of construction, the FOCUS 35 is being used to gather data that will be used to compare the as-built tunnels to the design specifications to determine what adjustments to the tunnel surfaces may need to be made.

Meghalaya-East Jaintia Hills Rescue operation

The 15 miners were trapped in the 320-foot-deep mine in the Ksan area of Lumthari village in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district since December 13, 2018.

About 20 miners on December 13 entered the mine. After reaching the bottom of the pit, they entered horizontal manholes, often termed as 'rat-holes', and each just about fits one person. The rat-hole mine located on top of a hillock fully covered with trees had got flooded. Five persons were able to climb out of the flooded mine, leaving the others behind. The miners were trapped in the illegal pit after water from nearby Lytein River gushed into the mine.
